Dr. Lager was one of the speakers at the 10-year "Runiversary" of Run Farther and Faster, a running organization in northern Virginia. The event, which was held in February 2020, provided education, resources, and support to distance runners. Dr. Lager spoke on mental strategies for runners to implement to get the most out of their race.

Ryan Sappington (he/him), PhD is a Licensed Psychologist and Licensed Sport Psychologist in Baltimore, MD. He works full-time at Loyola University Maryland where he serves as Coordinator of Public Health and Student-Athlete Mental Health Services. Additionally, Ryan is founder and owner of Liberated Performance Psychological Services LLC, a private practice offering individual and group psychotherapy services, sport/performance psychology counseling, and a range of consultation services for teams and organizations focused on issues of culture, leadership, conflict, and DEIB. Ryan is a former Division I soccer player, holds three master's degrees (sport psychology, work/organizational psychology, and counseling psychology), and earned his PhD in counseling psychology from the University of Maryland. His areas of interest include issues related to: liberation and social justice; student-athlete mental health and performance; men and masculinities; trauma; and grief/loss. Ryan has previously worked in five different university counseling centers, an active-duty military hospital, community mental health, and the sport psychology departments of the U.S. Naval Academy and Philadelphia Union.
